The Neighborhood  |  Upper East Side

The Upper East Side is the ultimate in New York luxury and home to some of the most expensive real estate anywhere in the world and is believed to be the greatest concentration of individual wealth in the nation. The 1.8 square miles neighborhood, with elegant rows of landmark townhouses, is located north of 59th Street and east of Central Park. The area is host to some of the most famous museums (Metropolitan Museum of Art, Guggenheim Museum, Whitney Museum of American Art, Cooper-Hewitt National Design Museum, and The Jewish Museum, among others) in the world and has been dubbed "Museum Mile”. The Upper East Side is also home to some of the best luxury hotels in the city and upscale designer shopping. This area boasts some of Manhattan’s finest restaurants as well as top public schools including P.S. 6 and P.S. 158. A number of private schools also enhance this neighborhood.
